Hello from citizens of Rome! In tribute to the once powerful Roman empire, the English Summer Vallclara campers dressed as Roman citizens with colourful headbands and sashes. These little Romans continued to compete in the Vallclara Olympic Games, which interesting was also invented by the Romans! Good afternoon from beautiful Vallclara! Yesterday we had a day jam packed with fun! Day 3 progressed in the usual structure, with the daily morning exercises, three English classes and three delicious meals. Following a much-needed visit to the community pool, the various Olympic teams, the Bears, Bees, Geese, Foxes, Dolphins, Eagles, Snakes and Turtles, competed in their first sport games against one another. All the teams played hard but fairly, showing great sportsmanship and camp spirit. Good afternoon from the happiest place in Spain! The students started their day bright and early at 8:00 AM when they were woken up by their monitors, though many students had already woken up due to their overwhelming excitement for the day’s activities. To energize the students and promote healthy living, the students went outside to the courts for the daily Froggy games, which consists of various morning exercises led by the monitors.   After exercising, students fueled their bodies with a nutritious breakfast which was held at from 8:45 AM until 10:00 AM. Greetings from sunny Vallclara! Yesterday we opened our arms to students from all corners of the globe! This year we enthusiastically welcome students from Ghana, Russia and all parts of Spain! Check-ins ran from 4-7 pm, when parents and students had the opportunity to meet their monitors for the term. It was not soon after the students bid their parents farewell, that they said hello to some newly formed friends.    To best accommodate the students’ unique needs, we held a placement assessment to determine the appropriate level of instruction for each student.
